Each unit is factory coded to one of over 16 million codes so other people's garage door remotes will not accidentally open your garage. FCC and DOC approved How it works: The Universal Garage Door Remote Control Replacement is a separate radio transmitter and receiver system. The system uses a 10 amp relay to trigger the opening and closing of the garage door - just as if a person was pushing the button manually.
